You need to complete your Notice of Intended Marriage and hand it to your marriage celebrant no earlier than 18 months and no later than one month before your proposed wedding date. You will also need to establish your identity when you lodge your NoIM.

You will need two of the following: If either of you have been previously married, then you must provide evidence of the termination of the marriage- either your divorce certificate or, in the case of being widowed, a death certificate. These documents do need to be originals, and If they are not in English, they must have been translated by a qualified interpreter.

My Bespoke Wedding Ceremony Package includes a rehearsal or walk-through of your ceremony, and it is something I LIKE to do. It means that everyone will know what to do on the big day- when to enter, where to stand, how to hold and use the microphone, how to exchange rings, and how to exit. A rehearsal means you won’t be (as) nervous on the actual day. The rehearsal also offers an opportunity to sign your Declaration of No Legal Impediment to Marriage.

I’m very happy to travel, but there may be a fee involved depending on the distance. If you let me know your venue when you enquire, I will detail any travel fee as part of your quote.

Your wedding can definitely be a surprise for your guests, but it can’t be a surprise for either of you.

Your wedding definitely needs a Plan B, whether it’s a wet-weather, hot-weather, cold-weather, floods, fires or COVID Plan B. I’ve written a blog about this topic. We will talk about this when we get together to sign your NoIM.

Your two witnesses need to be over the age of 18, and they must be able to legally witness that a marriage ceremony has taken place.
