Frequently Asked Questions

Most importantly, Congratulations! OK, you need to find a celebrant who you have a connection with. Don’t just settle for your neighbor’s grandma, just because you know she’s a celebrant. You’re placing a lot of trust into one person to tell your love story and make your marriage ceremony special! Anyway, once you’ve locked me in as your celebrant ;), we need to get started on the legals and complete a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form. This must be lodged with me at least one month before your wedding and is valid for up to 18 months. I look after all of this for you and will request exactly what I need from you to satisfy the legal requirements. You'll need to provide identification, such as a passport or birth certificate, and if either of you has been previously married, evidence of divorce or the passing of a former spouse.
