Hi, I’m Nathalie and welcome to Cakes by Tati. I was born and raised in the beautiful island of Mauritius and moved to Australia in 2007. I have always had a passion for baking since my teens and remember vividly how my mum used to make my siblings and I amazing cakes for our birthdays. Why the name Cakes by Tati? Well, Tati is a nickname that was given to me by my older brother. When we were kids, he couldn’t say my name and always called me Tati. Everyone in my family started calling me that and it never stopped!! It all began in 2012….I was pregnant with my first and wanted cake all the time. To “satisfy” my cravings, I started watching YouTube videos and enjoyed watching cake decorators creating masterpieces. When my daughter was born, I started baking and experimenting the whole wild world of cake decorating. In 2013, I officially opened Cakes by Tati with a dream of creating beautiful cakes for my children. I dreamt of creating memories that they could cherish forever. I dreamt of making each cake, one to remember and OH boy can I remember the very first cake I made (wink wink). Looking back, I can see how far I have come. I have learnt so much during those 10 years, with determination and perseverance, sleepless nights and hissy fits to be where I am today. With the support of my loving husband, family and friends, I have been able to slowly build my small business from the ground up. I am very proud of what I have achieved and grateful and humbled for the trust that my clients put in me. I put my heart and soul in every cake I make, to give you nothing but the best.
