Bridgewater Country Estate

Bridgewater Country Estate is a tranquil 16 acre haven situated in the middle of the tourist loop that runs from Auckland through the Kumeu wine district, and back down through to the rolling pastures of Albany. Bridgewater is a leisurely 35-minute drive from central city Auckland. We are nestled amongst 7 acres of rolling manicured lawns, 9 acres of magnificent native bush including giant kauri trees and glow worms which is all board walked for convenience. There are beautiful lily ponds, shady mature trees, waterfall, hydrangea walkways, swimming pool and Astroturf tennis court. There is plenty of accommodation in the area and a local taxi service. One idea that is particularly successful is to hire minivans or mini buses, to take your guests to and from Bridgewater. Unlike most other Auckland Wedding venues you will have use of the whole estate and all its facilities for your wedding vows, photos and reception. A Bridgewater wedding may consist of making your wedding vows by the romantic lily pond jetty, or on the deck of the chapel, under the arbour, in the Native Bush, or you may find another spot you love. The bridal party would then spend an hour or so having their photos taken at any number of beautiful locations around the garden. During this time the guests can stroll around the gardens, take a native bush walk, or simply relax in the garden with a drink enjoying the canapés. Waiters circle the gardens with trays of canapés keeping your guests refreshed and happy. Guests would then make their way up to the terrace, for dinner and speeches. The typical wedding reception styles that Bridgewater offers include the ‘Traditional Buffet’, the formal sit down ‘Set menu’, the casual ‘Garden Party’ reception, or the ‘Cocktail Party’. If you have other ideas of your own please feel free to share them with us; our chef is more than happy to accommodate individual wishes. You and your guests are also invited to spill indoors to lounge in comfortable chairs, and in cooler weather there is an open fire. After dinner, dancing, mingling amongst the fairy lights or under the closed verandah, completes your magical day.
