For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to people and their stories - the joyful ones, the heartfelt ones, the quiet ones that take time to tell. It’s this deep appreciation for human connection that led me into a career in television over 30 years ago, and it’s what continues to guide me in my work today as a Civil Celebrant. (And yes, if you’re thinking, "That’s the lady from Brand Power!", you’re absolutely right!) Whether I’m standing beside a couple on their wedding day, or helping a family farewell someone they love, I believe every ceremony deserves to be crafted with warmth, care, and genuine understanding. To me, it all begins with listening. Sitting down with couples, families, or close friends to gently draw out memories, values, hopes and stories … that’s where the real magic starts. From there, together, we create something meaningful, personal, and true. I believe it’s incredibly important to bring a calm and steady presence to each moment, to be a source of strength and gentle guidance, supporting people in the way they need most. My clients place their trust in me to hold space for them, to honour their emotions, and to bring heart, clarity, and kindness to the occasion. Whether we’re laughing together or holding space for tears, I see it as a privilege to walk alongside others during life’s biggest milestones. Every person, every couple, and every life is unique … and your ceremony should be, too. With a light touch of humour when the moment calls for it, and the ability to read the room and adapt, I work to ensure each ceremony feels just right. Not overly formal. Not overly scripted. Just honest, thoughtful, and filled with meaning.
