Everything you’d expect is included: planning, travel and any pre‑wedding consultations leading up to the day.Your final deliverables are a beautifully hosted online gallery (available for 2+ years) that you can share with anyone. All images can be downloaded and printed without restrictions.Travel is covered for the first hour from Herston to your starting location (including Gold Coast, Tamborine Mountains etc) and every good photo is individually edited in my signature style. There are no additional charges for parking, tolls, or incidentals.Printed products aren’t included, but I can recommend excellent Brisbane and international labs where you can order high‑quality prints at essentially wholesale prices.
I have personally shot over 950+ weddings and events in Brisbane, Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast since 2015.I shoot 7 days a week full-time, and when not shooting I am normally editing photos, scouting locations, or responding to enquiries. This means I have shot at all the popular wedding locations in Brisbane multiple times already including W Hotel, Sirromet, Hillstone St Lucia, Blackbird Cafe, Marriott Hotel, Smoked Garage, Calile Hotel, Enoteca, Hotel X, Electric Avenue, Roma Street Parklands, Rainforest Gardens, New Farm Park, Newstead Park, Walkabout Creek, Waters Edge, Stamford Plaza, Riverlife, The Warehouse, Emporium Southbank, Cedar Creek, Mt Coot-Tha Gardens, Lightspace, Bundaleer Rainforest Gardens and GOMA.I regularly shoot engagements shoots, couples portraits / bridal party photos at Roma Street Parklands on a weekly basis. You could say that Roma Street Parklands is my favourite location for couples and bridal party portraits, so I recommend it whenever you get married at a city or city fringe location.
My bookings are truly fully flexible in the same way a fully flexible airline ticket would be (with full refunds available even 6 hours before the start time!).I offer this flexibility because clients rarely cancel or postpone their wedding anyway. But if you need to, for personal or practical reasons you are more than welcome to (without any penalty or cost).I also offer a portraits rain check option for couples, meaning they can elect to shoot their portraits on another fine day if the weather is bad (or you just don’t feel like it). Finally, I offer coverage that can be booked from 2 to 10+ hours, in 15 minute increments meaning you won’t pay for more than you need. And you can adjust the total coverage leading right up until the wedding day.So if you suddenly decide close to the wedding date you really do want getting ready photos, the amount of coverage can be changed (it can be increased or decreased). In short, I treat my clients exactly how I would want to be treated, offering some of the most flexible ‘client friendly’ booking terms and options.
Yes for sure, and without limits on the resolution, JPEG quality, or who can print from them (everyone you provide the password!).The very next day after the wedding you will receive 15 edited sneak peek photos. These are free of watermarks (as are all photos) and are ideal for social media posting or sharing with overseas or interstate family and friends. The standard delivery time for all photos is 30 days from the wedding date. The gallery remains hosted for at least two years to allow as many friends and family to download them and make additional backups and prints. You can even purchase the original raw gallery files for just $300 if you know how to edit photos in Lightroom or Capture One, or want to ‘reimagine’ your photos in the future (either by editing them yourself, or using AI tools).
A $300 deposit is requested to reserve the wedding date paid online, and the balance is due five days before the wedding. That way, photos can be delivered without delay, including sneak peek photos the next day.I accept all major credit cards including Amex for extra rewards points online for payments without extra surcharges, or you can send a bank transfer. All paperwork including the agreement and initial payment can be completed online (no paper forms to fill out). Please note that while I do request full payment 5 days before the wedding day, full refunds are still available for cancellations even if notified by email just six hours before the wedding.
No problem! There is no cost or if you change your booked date to another date, even the day before the wedding. Even cancellations with full refunds are available up to six hours before the wedding start time for your complete peace of mind.
I shoot with dual Canon EOS R6 professional camera bodies and use only weather sealed, professional grade lenses from Canon (L Series) for the best optical quality, and reliability. I always shoot to two Sandisk Extreme memory cards for reliable and continuous backup of your photos throughout the day.In terms of lighting and flash I have an extensive range of on-camera speedlites, plus multiple umbrellas and MagMod modifiers to suit any situation.Getting married in a dark church and need to do family photos inside? Not a problem… I have the experience and gear to adapt to any lighting situation.I have rain covers and wet weather gear to shoot in light rain if required anytime on the day, either during the ceremony or your couples portrait session.I carry extra rain umbrellas of various types in my vehicle at all times as well for the couple. Please see this article for a full list of mycurrent gear.
Yes, you can absolutely change the coverage (time shooting) before the wedding day, to suit your timeline or change of plans.About two weeks before the wedding, we hold a pre-wedding consultation via video chat or phone call where we determine the final number of hours.I can then send through the final invoice, due five days before the wedding (adjusted for whatever the coverage time has been agreed).
It’s just a fancy name for a chat where we go over the photography timeline and venue runsheet of the wedding day about 1-2 weeks prior. For practical reasons I conduct all pre-wedding consultations via video chat or phone call (your preference). It takes about 45 to 90 minutes depending on the length of your coverage. After this chat I send through a ‘Photography Timeline’ which outlines the exact times I will be arriving and departing from each location and stage throughout the day, so everyone is on the same page. The pre-wedding consultation is also a fantastic time to offer some advice for the various stages of the day, to get the best possible photos. Such as ‘Please clearly show the rings during the ring exchange!’ ;)I refer to this photography timeline throughout the day to ensure I always keep to the schedule and are prepared for the next activity.
Yes, you can request a free USB drive if you need this to transfer the photos. But for most clients downloading the digital files is simply quicker and less hassle.Pixieset (my online gallery provider) also provides a convenient direct transfer to Dropbox or Google Photos, or download to your computer.I do not offer decorative USB drives (such as bamboo) as these could be unreliable over time as I only trust the Sandisk brand. Also all USB sticks degrade after about 5-7 years, so the best way to preserve photos is to keep multiple backups in the cloud.
For coverage five hours or longer, I do ask that you provide a meal from your reception venue at this time when guests are eating for practical reasons so I can stay amongst it, and not have to leave the premises. If you are planning a buffet or finger food only, then I can certainly partake in that as an alternative. The only real break throughout a wedding day that I take is to sit down and eat a main meal when guests are also eating and there are no photo opportunities to be had (for around 30 minutes). It’s not possible to take great photos of guests when they are eating, so my meal is best served as early as possible so I can be ready to shoot again once guests are mingling again.
I have not missed any of the 850+ weddings & events shot since 2015 (for any reason, including being sick, double bookings or punctuality). In the unlikely situation I was physically unable to shoot your wedding, I would make suggestions for an alternative photographer through my personal network of multiple other professional wedding photographers, who I am in contact with on a regular basis.I also work with several associate shooters if you need a second shooter (two photographers) for larger weddings, and these would be my first recommendations to replace me on the day if I was incapacitated.
Yes I am now accepting bookings again for destination weddings throughout Australia and New Zealand (and other countries on a case by case basis). For destination weddings (those outside SEQ beyond the practical reach of a car) you would be expected to pay for the cost of flights, accommodation and other out of pocket expenses such as meals, and this can be quoted at the time of your enquiry.
Yes, absolutely! This is a great way to get to know each other before the big day rolls around. For practical reasons I hold all meetings via video chat using Google Meet or your preferred video chat platform (such as Teams) to save everyone time. For your convenience, you can book a phone call or video chat below with real-time availability.Schedule a Meetingchrisjack.as.me
I normally shoot alone, without being assisted by a second shooter or assistant however I can provide an experienced second shooter to work alongside me if required, for larger weddings. Please enquire for details.
Absolutely, I have shot countless same-sex weddings over the years, and would love to book more.
I tend towards shooting with natural light where beneficial near sunset, but flash is essential after the sun goes down during your reception in most cases, unless the ambient light is of good quality & quantity. If your chosen venues provides enough flattering ambient light I will try to shoot as much as possible in natural light, and only use flash lighting when it makes sense because it’s a more efficient and discreet way to capture moments.
Please send me a message via the contact page, and I will reply quickly with availability and a link to book a phone call or video chat if that appeals.
Pricing includes travel for up to one hour to and from the destination from Herston, for example Greater Brisbane, Gold Coast, Tamborine Mountains etc. some parts of Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Byron Bay etc. please request a quote and mention your location when enquiring. As a general rule, if your destination is more than an hours drive from Brisbane (Herston) there may be a small additional cost for travel because I have to leave super early to ensure I am always on time to allow for traffic delays.
I don’t hold back any good, acceptable photos… I select all the good photos and individually edit them. The amount in total is dependent on many factors including the number of guests, their participation and mood, timeline, the weather etc. but as a general rule it’s about 65+ photos per hour of coverage. So for a nine hour wedding that would be around 600+ photos.
Yes, Amex is accepted for all payments to maximise your rewards or frequent flyer points for both weddings and corporate event bookings.
